Oak Park dad launches kids’ beverage line An Oak Park father of two named Aric Gastwirth recently launched what he described as "the world’s first water-based, vitamin-enriched beverage designed especially for kids." The new product is called Kid Fuel and according to Gastwirth is a "clear, tasty, healthy drink." Gastwirth and fellow dad/partner/product co-founder Roy Sciacca were inspired to create Kid Fuel because they both were seeking a nutritional alternative to soda and artificial fruit-flavored drinks. Kid Fuel contains 100 percent of the RDA for B-6 and B-12 plus calcium—three important nutritional ingredients that are critical to maintaining good health in children, according to Kid Fuel founders. It is combined with purified water and comes in four flavors—orange, raspberry, fruit punch and watermelon, in 9 oz. bottles using motor sports as its branding. The product is available for purchase locally in Beanscene Espresso, a coffee house on Lindero Canyon Road in Oak Park. The company is preparing for regional placement in Southern California supermarkets and specialty stores. The company also offers a full line of related merchandise including plush toys and diecast cars as a product tie-in. |
