Thanks to rainy weather, Conejo Valley Days carnival gets a reprieve

For the first time in two decades, heavy rains cancelled Conejo Valley Days (CVD) last weekend. However, event organizers say a down-sized event—only without the parade and rodeos—will open this afternoon for four more days.

Admission when Conejo Valley Days reopens at 5 p.m. today will be free and there will be no fee for entering the carnival grounds for the remaining three days. Tonight will be a Family Fun Night, with ride bracelets available at a modest cost for unlimited rides.

The hours will be 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. The grounds are at Conejo Creek Park South, near the intersection of Janss Road and the 23 Freeway. Vendors will be offering food, beverages, snacks, games of chance and more for worthy causes.
