Deputies and personnel from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station will participate in "Tip a Cop" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, April 6 and May 18, at the Sagebrush Cantina Restaurant, 23527 Calabasas Road, Calabasas.

The project will have law enforcement volunteers serving food and busing tables at the restaurant. Any amount over and above the regular wait-staff tip will be collected and donated to the Special Olympics.

There will also be displays, along with Kid Print (where parents may get their children’s fingerprints for their files), and a patrol car and motorcycle available for photo opportunities.

"On April 6 and May 18, we’ll gladly volunteer our time to serve brunch rather than citations," said event co-coordinator Dep. Mike Gurrola of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Community members are invited to show up for brunch or call Jan Maseda, director of Tri-Valley Special Olympics, at (818) 342-0017 to find out about the ways to support Special Olympics.
