Teacher Recruitment Fair coming to Channel Islands

The third annual Teacher Recruitment Fair will be from noon to 7 p.m. Fri., Mar Channel Islands, One University Drive, Camarillo.

Representatives from Ventura County school districts will be on hand to share information and interview prospective currently-credentialed candidates.

The fair is open to the public.

The recruitment fair is part of the Central California Regional Teacher Recruitment Center’s campaign to recruit already-credentialed teachers for specific high-need subject areas. Demand is especially high for special education, math and science, bilingual and foreign language teachers.

Teaching incentives are available to new, current and retired teachers and are offered to attract and retain fully qualified teachers. Merit awards, signing bonuses, improved work conditions and housing subsidies are some of the incentives that school districts are using to recruit future teachers.
