Wants to keep

I am voting for Janice Lee and Dennis Washburn because they have impressed me with their service to Calabasas since I moved here 11 years ago. Lee and Washburn can run on their records in Calabasas government because they actually have records. The other candidates can’t begin to compare their qualifications with these two local champions who have both labored for over a decade to protect our interests.

These two are the only candidates who have battled since the beginning against Ahmanson Ranch. They have stood up to developers who would have destroyed the natural beauty we all came here for, and they have practiced fiscal responsibility. The city is financially prosperous.

Lee and Washburn have also stood up to abusive fellow councilmembers who make their work environment miserable.

If you’re not clear on who’s responsible for "disturbing the peace" at the Wednesday night meetings, turn on CTV. It’s not Lee and Washburn.

You couldn’t pay me enough to sit on that board long into the night, but these two are not quitters. They are re-upping for another term because, however uncomfortable the meetings are, it is the work that drives them.

I, for one, am thoroughly grateful to have two public servants who are willing to get their hands dirty and stay up late to keep vigil for me and my kids. Janice Lee and Dennis Washburn, I am thanking you with my votes. I hope everyone else will too.
