Vote no on A

I not only live in Calabasas, I run my business from Calabasas. I pay the utility user tax (UUT) twice! And I am more than happy to do so for the benefit of our community.

The UUT:

•enables us to benefit from extra services.

•allows us to acquire open space.

•protects us with enhanced police/sheriff services.

•gives us a buffer from upcoming reductions in state funds.

•provides our city with the extras that make Calabasas a very, very desirable place to live and work.

The UUT is a clean and efficient means by which the city of Calabasas generates about 18 percent of its revenue. If Measure A passes, the UUT will be eliminated. Repealing this revenue source is simply not a wise, practical or rational thing to do. Please consider this matter carefully.
