Photo contest

The California Coastal Commission is currently accepting entries for its amateur photography competition. The contest pays tribute to the resources the Coastal Commission is mandated to protect—California’s spectacular coast and ocean.

Entrants are encouraged to submit photos in the following categories: the scenic coast; ways people use the coast; and coastal wildlife.

Plants and animals photographed should be native species in their natural setting. Photographs must be shot from a public place and should be in color. To avoid disturbance, photos of marine mammals must be taken from more than 50 yards away.

Prizes for winning entries include a variety of weekend travel packages in California. All entries must be postmarked by Mon., March 31.
