Performing arts camp to feature acting, dance, more

Donna Magnani, director and founder of Fame 2003 Performing Arts Camp, will host a two-week performing arts camp from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mon. through Fri., June 23 to July 3 at Oaks Christian School, 31749 La Tienda Drive, Westlake Village.

The course of study includes jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tap, new American tap, singing, voice and speech, acting, improvisational comedy and scene study class. At 4 p.m. on July 3 a presentation for parents and friends will be offered.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 10 to 18 with some experience in the performing arts.

The cost is $600 which includes daily lunches, snacks and beverages. Early signups before Mon., March 31 will include a free T-shirt. After meeting an enrollment of 35 students, four partial scholarships will be awarded.

Magnani is a professional actress, dancer and dance educator with more than 20 years of experience in film and television work. She also has opened an afterschool enrichment program called Go-Dance Afterschool Enrichment that brings many styles of dance and musical theatre workshops to students who may never have had the opportunity to experience such classes.
