Parent group copes with problem kids

The parent support group called "Because I Love You" aids parents who are experiencing problems with their children (of all ages) in the areas of attitude, curfew, runaways, school truancy, substance abuse, etc.

There are no fees or dues to participate. Led by parents who have had similar problems, the group also offers a "Communication Camp" and a youth support group. They "offer techniques for making positive changes."

The group meets 7 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays at West Valley High School, 23834 Highlander Road, West Hills.

A youth program for ages 13 and up runs at the same time. Another group meets 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Granada Hills High School/Rawley Hall, 10535 Zelzah Ave., Granada Hills, with a youth program also offered concurrently.
