Trumps the stock market
Rich Gomes
Rich Gomes of Calabasas, a senior at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, N.H., recently participated in a portfolio simulation service known as Stock-Trak in his investment class, and he was the most successful student in the 16-week program.
Students opened ficticious accounts with an amount specified by their professor and tracked their portfolio’s growth or losses as frequently as they liked. Trading could be done anytime and transactions were posted directly to each participant’s account.
With an opening balance of $500,000, Gomes amassed a portfolio worth more than $795,000 to win first place. He had earned more than $1 million dollars at one point in the program.
