Calvary Church to initiate restructuring plan soon

Calvary Community Church of Westlake Village will initiate a restructuring plan that should help the church sustain growth over the coming decades while maximizing collaboration with paid and non-paid staff involvement. A new steering team composed of the senior pastor, executive pastor, a new pastor/director of shepherding and new pastor/director of equipping, will provide strategic direction and leadership development, and will support team coaches who will be responsible for adult discipleship, youth discipleship, worship/events, community/world and support services.

Unpaid volunteers will support some of the positions currently held by paid staff persons. Because of these changes, a number of staff positions have been eliminated resulting in some paid staff reduction.

Last July Senior Pastor Larry DeWitt, who founded Calvary with 12 families in 1977, announced that he was transitioning from his current role as senior pastor to that of founding pastor effective next month.

A national search for a new senior pastor has been underway since August.

Calvary Community Church, at 5495 Via Rocas, Westlake Village, is an evangelical Christian church primarily serving residents of the greater Conejo Valley.
