Take a visit to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory in Newbury Park

The Young Artists Ensemble will present "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," a musical based on the novel by Roald Dahl, from Fri., Jan. 31 to Sun., Feb. 2 at the Newbury Park High School Performing Arts Center, 456 Reino Road, Newbury Park. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday through Saturday with 2:30 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday.

The play involves Willy Wonka, a reclusive and famous candy maker and young Charlie Bucket, caught up in a contest to win a tour of the candy factory and a lifetime supply of chocolate.

The play is described as a "magical adventure" filled with "pure imagination" and featuring "rivers of chocolate, everlasting Gobstoppers, edible gardens and Oompa Loompas singing and dancing their way through the deliciously amazing factory."

The production is comprised of 30 performers between the ages of 10 to 19.
