Favors Ahmanson

I am writing in support of the Ahmanson Ranch project. I have heard people say that building homes at Ahmanson Ranch will hurt the endangered species, create gridlock and destroy the environment. I say bunk!

The draft SEIR shows that Ahmanson Ranch can be built while safeguarding endangered species and water resources.

Ahmanson Land Company has addressed the traffic problems by proposing to build a development that reduces the need for the automobile and is friendly to those who like to walk.

Most homes are within a 10-minute walk of the village center, parks and services. Shuttles will provide transportation around the Ranch and to local work and shopping centers.

Over 39 intersections will be improved through the $14.4 million in Ahmanson funded roadway and intersection improvements. Because housing will be in a jobs rich area, traffic will automatically be reduced.

I have been a resident of Ventura County for over 30 years.

The simple fact is we need housing in this area and I don’t think there is a better way to get it than to allow this project to be built.
