Photo contest to profile Jewish life

Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries is sponsoring a photo contest with the theme of "Jewish Visions" that is intended to pay tribute to the many facets of Jewish life.

Open to amateur photographers only, the contest will award cash prizes and all entries will be displayed in a special exhibit at Mount Sinai-Simi Valley from Jan. 19 through Feb. 16. An awards ceremony will be on Feb. 2.

Photographers may compete in three categories: Jewish Life in Los Angeles; Israel: People and Places of the Holy Land; and Scenes of Simi: Images of Mount Sinai Memorial Park-Simi Valley. All photographs must be original color or black and white taken with film or digital cameras.

There’s no entry fee but contestants must pre-register. The deadline for submission of entries is Tues., Dec. 31.
