Thanks for helping with the food drive

Thanks for helping with the food drive

The Santa Comes to Agoura and Conejo Valley/Las Virgenes food drive will complete another year on Saturday morning at the Do It Center in Agoura Hills on Roadside Drive. If you didn’t donate any nonperishable foods, you’re certainly welcome to stop by around 9 a.m. and bring whatever you can.

You can also write a check or donate supermarket scrip. Unwrapped toys and stuffed animals are also needed.

The drive also needs household supplies and toiletries (soap, detergent, shampoo, deodorant, toilet tissue, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)

It’s a fun place to watch the people who give of themselves to help needy local families first (and then other worthy causes). And Santa is scheduled to arrive at around 9:45 a.m. via helicopter, thanks to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

We’d like to say "thanks" to everyone who helped, but there are too many people and businesses to name here. George Annino and Patti Wolfson are the coaches. They deserve much of the credit and will, no doubt, share the names of others who helped.

And thank you, too, to the volunteers who will help on Saturday.

You, the people of this area, deserve our deepest gratitude, too. Thank you for your generosity, whether you made a donation through a local business or a school drive or sent a check to buy a turkey. The canned goods and other foods will help feed people who might have otherwise gone hungry. Thanks for helping.

The food drive totally depends on those who donate or help in other ways.

Thanks again, from the bottom of our hearts, for your generosity.
