Chamber, vehicle dealer to salute the pumpkin tonight

The Calabasas Chamber of Commerce business mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight, Thurs., Sept. 19, will feature recognition of "Punky" the giant pumpkin on the roof of Acura 101 West at 24650 Calabasas Road, Calabasas. The event will serve as a kick-off for the 10th anniversary Calabasas Pumpkin Festival slated for Sat. and Sun., Oct. 19 and 20 at Paramount Ranch in Agoura.

Refreshments and entertainment will be provided at the harvest-theme mixer.

The giant pumpkin will spend the next month "smiling down on commuters along the Ventura Freeway from his rooftop patch" to remind them about the upcoming festival. The Acura building is near the Calabasas Parkway exit.
