Unhappy with councilmembers in Calabasas

Is the Calabasas City Council for real? Are the members certified to walk around by themselves? And to drive cars?

They voted Sept. 5 to spend the tax dollars they collect from us to hire a "facilitator" to teach them good manners because they can’t get along. They asked for our votes to represent us as the city’s policymakers, but now we have to pay to keep them from killing each other?

The Calabasas City Council gave us the stealth utility tax 11 years ago; now we know what it’s paying for. They also gave us the stealth permit law for trimming backyard trees, just recently, with fines up to $40,000. I’m surprised they didn’t keep this new shocker a secret too, but they must have feared it was too dangerous to conceal their hiring a personal shrink with our tax money.

There’s a much simpler and cheaper solution. Resign!

And take City Manager Don Duckworth with you for calling this ludicrous expenditure "entirely appropriate, entirely normal."

It is not normal for a city council to conduct itself in "continuing turmoil and destructive behavior," in the words of Calabasas Councilmember and Mayor Lesley Devine, and it is not appropriate to make residents pay the bill for therapy for elected officials.
