Local teen wins at Maccabi Games Samantha Macks, 13, of Oak Park recently won five medals in track at the Maccabi Games in Baltimore. Competing in the 13 to 14-year-old division, Macks won a gold in the triple jump with a leap of 24 ft. 2 in.; a silver in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 1 second; another gold in the 4 by 400-meter relay; another silver in the 4 by 100-meter relay; and a bronze in the 4 by 400-meter coed relay. Macks was a member of the Team Los Angeles delegation. More than 1,900 U.S. and international athletes competed. |
