Acorn didn’t hype or sensationalize the story I just read the article by Michael Picarella on the recent city council meeting (in Calabasas) held to discuss the fear of Rocketdyne waste being disposed of in area landfills. What a breath of fresh air to actually read a newspaper account of the issues surrounding Rocketdyne’s clean-up activities that was calm, fair and filled with good solid information. As a long time Rocketdyne-Santa Susana employee and area resident, I am impressed that a small publication such as yours can exercise a journalistic professionalism that is lacking in the alarmist material being presented in more widely distributed newspapers. I am also thankful that the people of Calabasas are so lucky to have such great leadership that they would quickly hold a public meeting to calm its citizens and lead them towards education rather than merely try and score political points and grab headlines.
