Marathon to help Wellness

For the first time, Wellness Communities from all over the country will meet to participate in Strides for Hope Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans on Feb. 16, 2003.

Individuals from the Conejo Valley area interested in participating will raise money to help the Wellness Community Valley/Ventura, dedicated to providing free emotional support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones.

Team members will receive free professional training, airfare, three nights hotel accommodations in New Orleans and paid marathon entry fees in exchange for raising a minimum of $2,900 for cancer support programs for the Wellness Community. Fundraising materials and assistance are provided.

The program is designed for all levels of experience, from novice to seasoned runner. Training will begin Oct. 12 under the direction of professional trainer Robert Mills of CLUB26.2.
