New camp comes to Malibu

Creation Station, a new performing arts camp, is coming to Malibu this summer. Boys and girls ages 8 to 13 will have an opportunity to perform a play complete with costumes, makeup, sets, lights and music.

They will work to improve acting, dancing and singing abilities "through blending artistic accomplishment and discipline with fun and the joy of performing."

Classes are geared to suit and challenge all levels of experience.

Creation Station has a 500 seat state-of-the-art theatre, a large dance studio with a sprung floor and two studio spaces for vocal and acting workshops.

The staff of professional artists is led by Cheryl Jennings, arts program director. Jennings combines a life as a professional actress, 25 years as director of education for the Santa Monica Playhouse and her love of children to create "a unique and inspiring environment" for children.
