Deputies to push for safe graduation parties

Capt. James N. Glazar and the Juvenile Intervention Team of Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station have issued a reminder to parents about hosting responsible graduation parties.

According to Glazar, deputies have responded too many times to unsupervised teenage parties at this time of year.

Too often, authorities found no adult supervision and guests who expected a chaperoned event.

To help parents and party hosts, Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station is offering a party registration service.

Party planners are encouraged to call the station and provide the date, time and location, a responsible contact person, an estimate of the number of guests and other pertinent information.

Then, a call to the complaint desk "will start the process." Information will be gathered and forwarded to the Juvenile Intervention Team. The "J-Team" will conduct additional follow-up if needed.

The sheriff’s station provides law enforcement services to the incorporated cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu and Westlake Village and to unincorporated areas of Agoura, Topanga, the Santa Monica Mountains and selected areas of Chatsworth.
