The high cost was, according to the incident report, "Due to the tank containing drinking water, environmental issues arise for repainting—thus making it very costly to repair the damage." The victim was Las Virgenes Municipal Water District. A work truck was broken into and a power snake (drain cleaning device), a drain pipe camera, a camera lens and a video monitor were stolen. The loot was valued at $8,750 and the theft occurred in the 29400 block of Agoura Road between March 11 and April 1. The loss was $2,000 after appliances were stolen from a delivery truck at a business in the 30600 block of Canwood Street. Damage to the vehicle was $300 and the incident occurred the night of March 26. Damage to a Chevy truck was $400 to a window and the dashboard, and an in-dash stereo, a CD case and compact discs were stolen ($900 loss). The vehicle burglary occurred the night of March 26 in the 29100 block of Laro Drive. The dollar loss was unknown, but a car parked at Agoura High School was extensively vandalized between March 22 and 28. A window and the exterior mirrors were broken, there were many dents to the hood and the top was completely caved in. Unknown males drove away after throwing a rock at the glass front door of a liquor store at around 3:30 a.m. March 25 in the 5000 block of Kanan Road. Damage was $700. It’s believed that three suspects (all wearing dark clothing) were involved. Nothing was stolen because the suspects never got into the store. A rock was thrown through the drive-through window of a fast food restaurant ($600 damage) at 3:55 a.m. April 1 in the 5000 block of Kanan Road. Golf clubs valued at $2,000 were stolen from a garage on Hempstead Road the night of March 28, but they were later recovered. A lilac tree on Crags Drive was cut down ($250 loss) on April 1 or 2. Four Dodger tickets valued at $96 were stolen from a desk at an office in the 29200 block of Canwood Street between March 16 and 27. Calabasas A vehicle was vandalized with scratches ($3,000 damage) on Balcony Drive between 11:30 p.m. April 1 and noon April 2. The padlock of a trailer had $10 damage and a weed whacker, a lawnmower and a leaf blower were stolen ($2,500 loss). The theft occurred on April 1 or 2 in the 4700 block of Commons Way. The loss was $230 in candy and currency, and a vending machine had $800 damage after petty theft and vandalism in the 3600 block of Old Topanga Canyon Road between March 29 and April 1. An unlocked vehicle in the 26800 block of Cold Springs Street provided easy access to burglar(s) who stole music CDs, a sub woofer, a backpack, a toolbox and an owner’s manual for Windows. The $975 theft occurred on March 29. Paintball damage to Lupin Hill Elementary School was $300 after vandalism the night of March 28 in the 26200 block of Adamor Road. Hidden Hills No signs of forced entry were noted in the theft of two surfboards and a wetsuit. The items (valued at $950) were stolen from a garage on John Colter Road between March 23 and 30. Westlake/T.O. Grand theft occurred at 10 a.m. March 30 in the 1000 block of Landsburn Circle. The loss was $2,302 when a known suspect stole a table saw, a tool box and tools, assorted power tools, a cordless phone and a cell phone. The suspect also destroyed victim’s phone line. Westlake Village A wine refrigerator valued at $2,000 was stolen and damages to a truck and padlock were $120 after a vehicle was broken into on March 24 or 25 in the 31100 block of Via Colinas. Jewelry valued at $925 was stolen from a Kirsten Lee home between March 14 and April 2. A maid is a possible suspect; no signs of forced entry were observed. A business in the 31200 block of La Baya was broken into and ransacked on March 29 or 30. Damage was $400. |
