Camp Kinneret Day Camp to host upcoming open houses

Camp Kinneret is on a 40-plus acre site in Agoura Hills and offers a summer camp program for children ages 4 to 14.

Campers have the opportunity to experience horseback riding, swimming, archery, nature, music, camp crafts, basketball, volleyball, soccer, challenge ropes courses, rock-wall climbing, beach trips, overnights, hikes, cooperative field games, woodworking and more.

Camp groups are kept small so campers have the opportunity to participate fully in camp activities and develop new friendships in well-supervised groups.

A special counselor-in-training program is available for campers entering eighth and ninth grades.

Camp Kinneret provides transportation utilizing certified school bus drivers and seatbelt equipped school buses with camp counselors on board each bus.

Children enroll for two, three, four or five days each week.

The camp season runs from June 24 to Aug. 23.

There is still limited space in camp for campers of all ages. Information about enrollment may be obtained by calling the camp’s administrative office at (818) 706-8255 or by attending Open Houses from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sundays, March 24 and April 21 at the camp site, 29646 Agoura Road (between Kanan and Reyes Adobe Roads), Agoura Hills.

Families attending the Open Houses will have the opportunity to take a tour and learn more about the program firsthand from the staff and directors.

Harold Gordon is the director at Camp Kinneret, which is an accredited member of the American Camping Association.
