No on prayers

No on prayers

The utterance of a prayer implies a belief in the existence of a divine being and that the prayer will bring about a desirable change.

Not everyone subscribes to these beliefs.

City councils are not religious organizations, and their meetings are not held in consecrated buildings. Therefore, forcing those in attendance to listen to a prayer is just as inappropriate as making them listen to an atheist telling them that religion is false and that they should not believe in God.
