Seminar to address nutrition of wild plants

"Nutritional Values of a Wild Food Diet" is the subject of a talk to be presented from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sat., March 23 on the Soka University campus at 26800 W. Mulholland Highway., Calabasas.

The discussion will be preceded by a leisurely-paced walk through the woodlands and fields of the campus, where participants will gather wild greens. Those planning on attending this outdoor workshop are advised to bring a large paper grocery bag and a pair of shears (to collect wild greens) as well as a plate and a cup for a salad and hot herbal tea.

The workshop will be conducted by Hilla Futterman, who offers edible wild plant field courses in the Santa Monica Mountains through numerous community colleges.

Rain will cancel the event. Admission is $10 and the deadline for reservations is Wed., March 20.
