College grant deadline: March 2 State Assemblywoman Fran Pavley (D-Woodland Hills) encourages students in the 41st Assembly District to apply for a scholarship from the revised Cal Grant Program before the March 2 deadline. Grants, which do not have to be repaid, are awarded to eligible low or moderate-income applicants who meet the academic standards, and fully finance tuition and fees at the California State University or the University of California. Awards are also given to students entering private colleges or community colleges; the latter students have until Sept. 2 to apply. For more information, students can speak with their college counselors at their high schools, call the California Student Aid Commission at (888) 224-7268 or call Pavley’s Woodland Hills office at (818) 596-4141. |
