Frank Schillo served us well

I have lived in the Oak Park community for a number of years, and I wanted to take this opportunity to offer a special thank you and acknowledgment to our county supervisor, Mr. Frank Schillo. I met Mr. Schillo over 15 years ago and what initially impressed me about his energies was his commitment to community service.

I have watched his career over the years and have consistently noted this intention with all that he has contributed.

About a year ago I had the opportunity to offer more of my time to community service projects. Frank was the first person I called to learn where my skills and experience would be most helpful. His aides and office staff were extremely supportive of my ideas.

I was very pleased to be asked to serve on an advisory board for Proposition 10—the Neighborhoods for Learning project for the Conejo Valley.

I had firsthand experience watching how Supervisor Schillo and his staff implemented a planning process that was inclusive and sensitive to the particular needs of families from a wide variety of neighborhoods in his district.

Supervisor Schillo will be leaving office at the end of this year. Anyone who has worked with him knows that his efforts were based on improving the quality of life for all of us who live here. Thank you, Frank, for having the concern and care of our families for all these years. Your leadership has set an example for all to follow.
