City should be investigated

The L.A. Times article on Mon., Feb. 11, "Big Box Could Cost Agoura Hills Big Bucks," paints a picture of the Agoura Hills City Council once again lying to the public and smacks of outright collusion with the developer Dan Selleck and Home Depot.

To quote the Times, "Details of the development agreement, which have been the subject of three years of negotiations, have never been disclosed. The city council has repeatedly insisted that no public money would be committed to Selleck’s project and until last week denied the existence of the development agreement."

According to the agreement, the city would contribute $1.5 million or nearly 20 percent of its $8 million operating budget annually for the next 10 years. I smell a rat. This project should not be allowed to go any further until a complete investigation is made. The city council and our city attorney should try a different approach with all of us.

Tell us the truth.
