Get out, give kids some razzle dazzle Why don’t parents get out more to enjoy an evening of dining out? A recent poll conducted by the L.A. Restaurant Guild showed the culprit to be a lack of decent child care. Now, Razzle Dazzle Kids, the Agoura-based educational enrichment service, in conjunction with Rancho Simi Parks and Recreation District, is proposing a viable solution so frazzled folks can have their night on the town, while their children have the time of their lives. Child care for children ages 5 to 11 will be offered in a community-based neighborhood format every Friday night beginning March 1 in the community building at Mae Boyar Park, 130 Kanan Road (at the corner of Conifer Street and Kanan) in Oak Park. Drop-off time is 6 p.m., with a pick-up time of 9:30 p.m. The cost is only $12 per child. Children will be treated to organized fun with art and science projects, ball games, G-rated movie and popcorn, a home made pizza dinner made at the facility kitchen by the cooking instructor and her kids’ cooking class, plus community guest speakers talking on kid-interesting topical subjects. Children are allowed to spend their time as desired in a supervised project or activity including bringing their own board games, etc. In good weather children may play volleyball or handball. For more information, please call Vaughn Fulkerson or Lynn Metrow at Razzle Dazzle Kids at (818) 991-1691 or Dennis Anderson at Rancho Simi Parks and Recreation District at (805) 584-4400. |
