Calabasas to host Appreciation Day for cops

The city of Calabasas will host the annual Deputy Appreciation Day at noon on Tues., Feb. 26 at the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center. The event recognizes citizens, community volunteers and employees of the sheriff’s department who have contributed to improving the quality of life in Calabasas.

This year’s honorees have demonstrated exceptional skills, talent and an outstanding work ethic throughout the past year, according to city officials.

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Citizen of the Year, Community Volunteer, Civilian Employee, Vital Intervention and Directional Alternative (VIDA) Program Deputy of the Year, Traffic Deputy, Juvenile Intervention Team Deputy, Detective of the Year and Patrol Deputy of the Year.

L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca plus state, local and county officials are scheduled to attend.
