The Math Maze befuddles him

Michael Picarella’s nice feature in honor of Mr. Ralph Colao, inventor of the to me incomprehensible Math Maze puzzle, was a sort of ironic exemplification of my complete bafflement concerning this apparently easy-for-any-5-year-old-to-understand weekly Acorn feature.

When I first saw the Math Maze puzzle, I couldn’t (and still cannot) even understand what it is.

The language giving the directions is a complete non sequitur to me. A couple of friends demonstrating how to do it for me was to no avail. Believe it or not, I am a licensed driver with an IQ of (not by much, I admit) over a hundred.

I’m not making this up, honest.

My question is: Is there any other single solitary soul out there in the approximate vicinity (or if not, in the universe maybe) who also cannot really understand what this thing is?

If so, may I please hear from you in the Acorn? Intellectual loneliness is so sad.
