Citizens have been misled on Measure H

Our community has been deceived. A group presenting itself as "concerned citizens" used outside mercenaries to get an initiative qualified for the March ballot that would ban retail developments over 60,000 square feet. They told us the measure was intended to preserve our community’s character.

Recent campaign disclosures show that the people behind Measure H are not "concerned citizens" but "concerned businesses."

Agoura Equipment Rental, California Do-It Center, and Roadside Lumber & Hardware Inc. have bankrolled the efforts to pass Measure H to the tune of nearly $100,000. And I, for one, must question their motives.

It seems convenient that their concern for the preservation of our community will also allow them to keep competitors out of Agoura Hills.

We have been deceived thus far by this group, but it is not too late. We still have time to stop this special interest legislation by voting no on Measure H on March 5.
