Agoura Hills senior combines nimble hands with a generous heart
Coral Ballard of Agoura Hills is very proud of her mom, 93-years-young Sylvia Peterson. Sylvia tirelessly crochets blankets—one per week—to donate to homeless shelters.
Not only did this kind-hearted nonagenarian reach her goal of 52 in 2000, she crafted 58 blankets for the needy in 2001. Sylvia acquires yarn for her 4’x 7’ blankets through visits to thrift shops and at garage sales.
"I am very proud of her work and wanting to help others," said Ballard. Sylvia lives with Ballard and her family.
