Essay contest open to Westlake kids

The city of Westlake Village is offering students in grades 3 through 12 the opportunity to participate in a special essay contest commemorating the city’s 20th anniversary. The topic of the contest is "Describe what you think life in Westlake Village will be like in the year 2031." The contest is open to students who reside in or attend school in Westlake Village.

One first place winner will be selected from three categories: grades 3 through 5, 6 through 8, and 9 through 12. Each winner will receive a $100 savings bond from contest sponsor, Camarillo Community Bank.

Essays must be 500 words or less, typed and double spaced. All entries must include the required application. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, and content, writing skills and grammar will also be considered.
