In the midst of this devastating day of tragedy on Sept. 11, 2001, we Americans are searching desperately for answers. More ... I rarely watch the news. The news is mostly negative, and I personally find the impact devastating on my empathic nature. By pure accident, in real time, I watched in dumbstruck horror as the New York World Trade Center Towers came tumbling down Tuesday morning. It was total disbelief at what my eyes had seen. I could never make sense of the senseless or understand this insanity. More ... I woke up this morning at 2:30 a.m. and never got back to sleep. After putting in what felt like a full day before 10 a.m., I settled down, exhausted, with a large cup of coffee to read The Acorn. The letter from Councilmember Reinhardt did not help to improve my mood. I found the tone to be patronizing and insulting. More ... I am appalled that the letters supporting the Home Depot have only two reasons for wanting this development. The writers are either too lazy to drive down the freeway or suggest what they need is too expensive locally. The two Home Depots More ... On Sept. 9, I patronized a local barber shop/salon on Kanan Road in Agoura Hills. Business was light that afternoon with a 15-minute wait, as the stylists were finishing up haircuts for three young boys accompanied by their mother. More ... A group of parishioners from St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church recently got together to help a very special person in Oak Park. The group cleaned, did yard work as well as planted flowers. Much thanks to Do-It Center and Tom Jacobillis of G.I. Rubbish for their generous contributions. More ... I feel greatly privileged to have been included in the true pillars of the Calabasas/Las Virgenes community in Marcus Allen Frishman More ... In a recent edition of The Acorn I wrote a letter wherein I was unfair to Calabasas City Councilman James R. Bozajian. It was not my intent to cast negative aspersions on the councilman. More ...
