Trail designation moves closer to reality
      A resolution designating an official California state trail stretching between the Oregon and Mexican borders was approved by both the California Assembly and Senate recently. State Assemblywoman Fran Pavley introduced Assembly Concurrent Resolution 20, a resolution designating the 1,200-mile long California Coastal Trail as an official state trail and directing the California Coastal Commission and the State Coastal Conservancy to work collaboratively to complete the trail.

      Interface Children, Family Services of Ventura County has announced that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Camarillo Premium Outlets will once again sponsor "Hands Are Not For Hitting" and "Safe Homes and Community Day" on Oct. 6. "Hands" is a project to educate about domestic violence and to encourage children, youth and adults to make a commitment to non-violence in family and other relationships.
