Why are trauma victims going to Los Angeles?

Why are trauma victims going to Los Angeles?

Upon reading the recent article regarding the traffic death of Stuart Rubin on Las Virgenes Road, my sincere prayers go out to his family.

However, the question remains unclear as to why he was transported to Los Angeles County at USC instead of Los Robles Hospital. And the Abantaos family to Northridge Hospital.

Both hospitals are geographically out of this area.

Was Los Robles Hospital overcrowded and could not accommodate this serious need for immediate care? As a resident of Westlake Village for over 18 years, I recall the day Westlake Hospital closed its doors. And since we have had numerous accidents in this area, of which people are sent to neighboring facilities.

The need for another hospital/emergency medical center is desperately needed for Westlake and the surrounding communities.

My husband, Attorney Alan M. Horwitz, has had a committee of medical and business people who are now and have been interested in purchasing and reopening the Westlake Hospital; unfortunately, the current owners are not interested. However, there is "hope."
