B’nai B’rith to honor several groups

Thousand Oaks Mayor Pro Tem Ed Masry will be the keynote speaker at the 7:30 p.m. meeting on Mon., Aug. 20 of the Conejo Valley Haverim B’nai B’rith at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. The meeting will serve as occasion to honor the following community organizations and their representatives: Manna (Conejo Valley), Pauline Saterbo, director; Lutheran Social Services of Southern California, J.R. Jones, executive director; ADL, Aaron Levenson, executive director; Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles (Conejo Valley branch), Helaine Esterson, executive director; Hillel of Pierce Valley Community College, Naomi Gordon, director; and Hillel of CSUN, Robyn Amser, director.

An attorney, Masry has received a U.S. Congressional Award as an outstanding trial lawyer and has been honored for his humanitarian efforts. He’ll discuss critical issues currently affecting Thousand Oaks and surrounding communities.
