Ventura County administrator retires

Ventura County Emergency Medical Services Agency Administrator Barbara Brodfuehrer has retired after 18 years of service.

A Ventura County resident since 1971, she was recently honored at a reception.

Her successor, Barry Fisher, was born and raised in Ventura County. During his career, Fisher served as a reserve firefighter with the Ventura County Fire Protection District for several years at Station 31 in Westlake.

The EMS Agency is responsible for the overall management and oversight of all emergency medical services in Ventura County including paramedics, ambulances, disaster medical operations, certification and accreditation, emergency medical dispatch and other facets of the provision of emergency medical care.
