Jaclyn Dyan Grossman, 23, a 1995 Agoura High School graduate and 15-year resident of Agoura Hills, was recently named Miss Yosemite Valley 2001.

The Miss Yosemite Valley Pageant, an official preliminary to the Miss America Pageant, was a "by invitation only" pageant, the participants being the first and second runnersup from Miss America Preliminary Pageants in California.

The competition consisted of an interview, talent competition, physical fitness competition and an evening gown competition.

For her talent portion of the competition, Grossman (a 17-year piano student) played "Sonata K.545" by Mozart in the key of C.

Grossman went on to compete in the Miss California Pageant in Fresno at the end of June, finishing extremely well and earning more than $1,500 in scholarship money. A 2000 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UCLA, Grossman will attend USC law school this fall.
