Pierce offers robotics, electronics classes this summer Los Angeles Pierce College Extension is offering a new all-day summer science camp experience for young adults. Techno Fun 2001 provides participants with an opportunity to design and build their own motorized KNEX Techno-bot while uncovering the latest robotic science. Students will explore EXTREME electronics as they build their own walkie-talkies. The camp is offered July 30 to Aug.3. The registration fee is $205. There will also be an Advanced Electronics class for kids ages 12 to 15 to look further into digital electronics, communication systems and more advanced robotic systems, both electronic and mechanical operations. Participants will construct a robot kit that will include digital, analog electronics and mechanical controls. Instructor Adrian M. Banuelos has 20 years of experience as an accomplished technician with comprehensive knowledge of electronics, diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of high-tech automobiles. The class will be 9 to 11:30 a.m., July 30 to Aug. 9. The registration fee is $90 plus a $30 material fee. For additional information or to register call (818) 719-6425.
