New clinical results offer hope to 95 million pain sufferers
      In a paper presented to the executive committee of the American College of Sports Medicine, Bassil Aish, M.D., reported that 90 percent of the patients who participated in a study of the Magnetic Resonance Analyzer (MRA) reported a greater than 70 percent improvement in their acute and chronic pain. The study population in this latest paper represents more than 700 treatments of a variety of hard and soft tissue ailments ranging from sports injuries to arthritis.

Children with asthma can now enjoy summer camp too, a family workshop also offered
      The American Lung Association of Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties is offering a free summer day camp, "Camp Wheez," for children with asthma. The camp is for children planning to enter grades 1 to 6 in the fall. It will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Aug. 13 to 17, at the Sacred Heart School in the city of Ventura.

Young adults cancer support group meets monthly in WLV
      The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura offers a Young Adults Networking Group from 7 to 9 p.m. on the third Friday of each month at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village. This group provides empathy, support and advice for young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. Participants share concerns unique to their age bracket including dating, childbearing, loss of independence, friendships, employment and health insurance concerns.
