Time to pull the plug on the Calabasas utility users tax
      I consider myself a reasonably informed person. While I was strongly opposed to cityhood for Calabasas, and voted against it because I knew it would add another layer of unneeded government which would ultimately result in higher taxes, I was unaware that it would immediately result in a 5 percent utility tax, until after the fact.

Reader thirsty for drought-tolerant plants
      I am responding to the letter by Mark Rackow and would like him to know there are many of us who support his use of drought-tolerant plants. Also, it takes much more thought and creativity to plant grasses, salvias and groundcover than it is to lay sod. How can anyone find more beauty in a boring lawn? Why would anyone care if other people have other ideas of what a front garden should look like?
