A local business, Canyon Cycle (5076 Chesebro Road, Agoura), hosted its second annual "Run for the Kids" ride on June 3 to help raise money, awareness and toys for the youngest victims of cancer More ... While I was strongly opposed to cityhood for Calabasas, and voted against it because I knew it would add another layer of unneeded government which would ultimately result in higher taxes, I was unaware that it would immediately result in a 5 percent utility tax, until after the fact. Also, it takes much more thought and creativity to plant grasses, salvias and groundcover than it is to lay sod. How can anyone find more beauty in a boring lawn?
