Lindero resident still plagued by errant golf balls

By 9:30 a.m. yesterday, Sun. May 21, we had three driving range golf balls hit our house. The third hit the patio so hard that I thought it was going to come right through.

After calling the facility to complain and having calmed myself down, it took almost a half-hour to calm down my handicapped mother. She was so shaken up that she was actually trembling uncontrollably.

Sunday was her birthday. We had plans. However, this so traumatized her that we had to cancel all our plans.

My mom keeps asking, "What kind of crazed animals run that city? They certainly can’t think of themselves as human beings!"

How can you answer this question when the city keeps lying to you? Just look at all the promises and statements they’ve made over the last five years and never kept.

In one conversation I was told, "We have procedures." Apparently the city’s "procedures" are still reflective of the lawless days of the Old West; allow innocent people to get hurt or killed rather than acting responsibly. Then the city might do something.

Well, so much for my mom’s birthday. If the city doesn’t kill her before next year, maybe we’ll try again.
