Edible plants topic of walk

A leisurely-paced, informational walk intended to educate participants on the value of wild food will be led by Hilla Futterman from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 25 on the Soka University campus in Calabasas.

Futterman widely teaches field courses on edible wild plants found in the Santa Monica Mountains. Following the walk to collect edible wild plants, there will be a wild-herb "high tea" that includes sandwiches filled with wild greens collected during the walk, and a talk on "The Values of a Wild Food Diet."

The event is free but reservations are required.

The campus is at 26800 W. Mulholland Highway at its junction with Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon Road.

For additional information or reservations, please call (818) 878-3763. Rain will cancel the event.
