Christmas became a time of joy for the Transitional Living Care program at Many Mansions in Thousand Oaks when members of the Assistance League of Conejo Valley arrived with a homecooked meal, Christmas cookies, gifts, a decorated tree and baskets of a groceries.
The Assistance League started the Tansitional Care program after Ventura County was granted federal money in 1999 to establish a program helping youth 17 to 19 who are trying to leave the foster care system.
The program offers housing to six to eight young adults living in three of the Many Mansions apartments. The food donations went to each apartment.
The program is chaired by Cheryl Anderson with Interface Children Family Services as the actual fiscal agent providing project supervision.
