Chabad plans holiday community events Among the numerous events Chabad of the Conejo will present to celebrate the Chanukah holiday are the following:
      In the weeks leading up to Chanukah, Chabad representatives will conduct a hands-on workshop demonstrating how olive oil is made from raw olives. The miracle of Chanukah involved olive oil and is considered one of the central symbols of the holiday. These "Olive Press" demonstrations will be at local Jewish schools as well as senior homes.

      St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Westlake Village will have a 5 p.m. candlelight labyrinth walk and prayer service on Sun., Dec. 17.

Children’s Christmas party planned
      At least 450 needy children are expected to attend a Christmas party hosted by St. Paschal Baylon Church on Sat., Dec. 16. Underprivileged children of the church and the community are invited to the party scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. in the church hall at 155 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.
