Medea Creek sets mark

The Medea Creek Middle School girls team set a course record at the recent Mount San Antonio College Cross Country Invitational, shattering the mark set last year by 20 seconds.

Led by a first place finish from Kelsey Connor, the Medea Creek girls ran a combined 1.13:08. Michelle LeFrancois came in third, Breanne Strenkowski fourth, Amy Nevers fifth and Kelsey Ford seventh.

Alex Kaplan and Caitlin Cohen also ran well for Medea Creek, a school in Oak Park.

Connor and Nevers both ran at Mt. SAC last year as sixth-graders and finished among the top 12 in the varsity race.

Led by Coach of the Year Al Calce, Medea Creek had two teams of sixth and seventh grade boys and girls competing at the event.
