Hallowed Eve Celebration planned

For the Halloween holiday, St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church will offer a Pumpkin Mass at 5 p.m., Sat., Oct. 28. Families with their favorite goblins and tricksters will gather in costume quietly among evening shadows of the new sanctuary, their pumpkins in tow, for a special blessing and homily.

The church is at 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village.

Members of the Young Artists Ensemble, a theatrical company comprised of young actors from Thousand Oaks, will "treat" the children to a sneak peek at their spectacularly designed costumes for a production of C.S. Lewis’ "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" to be performed at 5:30 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 5 in the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.

The production is a special benefit engagement to raise funds for the Tedjasaputra family of Oak Park, suffering serious financial obstacles in the wake of a family member’s critical illness and recent death.

The family of Kelly Tedjasaputra worships at St. Maximilian.

For tickets ($20 general admission) to this benefit performance, please call (805) 381-2748.
